Description
Pre-owned Rolex Explorer Ref 214270 (2010) originally came to market in 2010 and was an important upgrade for the Explorer as the first to feature a larger 39mm case. It was the first time Rolex significantly upsized the Explorer, giving the historically understated field watch a stronger wrist presence while still preserving its clean, legible design. The earliest versions of the 214270, now commonly referred to by collectors as “Mark I” dials, featured solid white gold Arabic numerals at 3, 6, and 9 without luminescent filling, just like the Rolex for sale here. While Rolex eventually upgraded the series to feature fully-luminescent hour markers and slightly longer hands (called the Mark II), many still prefer the aesthetic of the original Mark I Rolex.
