Pre-owned Rolex Day-Date 36 ref 1803 (1970) is a true cornerstone in the brand’s history. First introduced in 1956, the Day-Date was the world’s first wristwatch to display both the date and the day of the week spelled out in full, never abbreviated. It was also only ever produced in precious metals, reinforcing its position at the very top of the Rolex lineup. The nickname “President” came from the semi-circular link bracelet designed specifically for the model, though its association with world leaders and public figures didn’t hurt either. This vintage Rolex captures that era perfectly, with brushed lugs, an acrylic crystal, and a classic pie pan dial. The Tritium hour markers have aged into a light golden patina, adding warmth that modern versions just don’t replicate.
