Crafted in high-intensity titanium with accents of ceramics and 18k rose gold, its 43.2mm case features a copper-pink dial patterned after the peak visible from Grand Seiko Studio Shizukuishi, where these exceptional watches are made. Powered by the Caliber 9SC5 automatic chronograph movement, vibrating at 10 beats per second, it delivers approximately 72 hours of power reserve and exceptional precision. The watch includes a screw-down crown, tachymeter function, and chronograph with 30-minute and 12-hour counters, while LumiBrite on the hands and indexes ensures legibility. Additional features include a see-through screw case back, box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating, 10-bar water resistance, 4,800 A/m magnetic resistance, and a 23mm three-fold clasp bracelet. Limited to just 300 pieces, with the serial number engraved on the case back, this Evolution 9 chronograph blends Japanese artistry, technical mastery, and refined elegance in one striking timepiece.

The pattern is inspired by Mt. Iwate, the mountain visible from Grand Seiko’s Shizukuishi studio, and it genuinely feels more organic than decorative. Almost like light moving across ridgelines rather than a printed motif. Housed in high-intensity titanium, the case keeps the watch surprisingly wearable for its size, and the Evolution 9 proportions help it sit flatter than you might expect. Inside is Grand Seiko’s caliber 9SC5 “Tentagraph,” a high-beat, 10 beats-per-second mechanical chronograph with a full 72-hour power reserve, even with the chronograph running. That combination alone puts it in rare company. Details like the reduced space between the dial, hands, and indices make it easier to read than most chronographs, and the subtle date placement avoids cluttering the layout. It’s a technically serious watch, but one that still feels thoughtful, restrained, and very Grand Seiko.
