Cartier officially introduced the modern Pasha collection in 1985 during a period when luxury sports watches were becoming increasingly popular, though the design itself traces its inspiration back to a waterproof Cartier watch reportedly created for the Pasha of Marrakesh decades earlier. Unlike the rectangular Tank or Santos models that traditionally defined Cartier, the Pasha embraced a large round case, prominent Arabic numerals, and a highly stylized dial layout. The Pasha C brought the design into a more wearable everyday format with a compact stainless steel case and automatic movement. Ref. W31055M7 features several signature details collectors associate with the line, including the chained screw-down crown cap, Arabic numerals positioned at the quarter hours, and the distinctive square minute track that gives the dial a slightly architectural feel.
