Pre-owned Cartier Tank Française ref. W51028Q3 is a beautiful example of one of Cartier’s most successful modern interpretations of the iconic Tank. While the original Tank debuted more than a century ago in 1917, the Tank Française came to market in the 1990s with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic that quickly became a style icon in its own right. It was also the first Tank sub-collection to feature a fully integrated metal bracelet, giving the watch a more jewelry-inspired look while preserving the clean rectangular case that made the Tank famous. The Française became the “It Girl” watch of the era, appearing on the wrists of style icons such as Princess Diana and Kate Moss and helping define minimalist luxury throughout the decade. This earlier-generation example is especially elegant, pairing the stainless steel case and bracelet with a stunning pink mother-of-pearl dial.
