Pre-owned Rolex Day-Date II ref 218235 (2012). Introduced in 2008, the Day-Date II was the first truly “large” Day-Date, expanding the traditional 36mm formula to a contemporary 41mm case size. At a time when larger watches were dominating the luxury market, Rolex responded by giving its most prestigious model a bolder wrist presence while preserving the signature design elements that had defined the Day-Date for decades. Although the Day-Date II was eventually discontinued and replaced by the Day-Date 40, it has developed a loyal following among collectors who appreciate its unique place in Rolex history. Unlike the later Day-Date 40, the 218235 has its own distinct proportions and personality, making it instantly recognizable to enthusiasts familiar with the collection.
