Pre-owned Rolex Daytona ref 116520 (2008 – 2009) marks an important chapter in the history of the modern Daytona. Introduced in 2000, it was the first stainless steel Daytona to feature Rolex’s in-house chronograph movement, the caliber 4130. Prior to this reference, Rolex relied on modified Zenith-based movements, making the 116520 a major technical milestone for the brand. This example from 2008–2009 features the sharp black dial that many collectors prefer for its crisp contrast against the polished steel case and bracelet. The dial layout is clean and highly legible, with luminescent hour markers and the familiar trio of chronograph registers. Unlike later Daytonas, this reference retains the classic stainless steel tachymeter bezel rather than the ceramic Cerachrom insert seen on newer models.
