Pre-owned Rolex GMT-Master II ref. 126710 (2021) was one of the most significant GMT-Master releases in years when it debuted in 2018. Prior to its release, collectors who wanted a modern Pepsi GMT had only one option: the white gold ref. 116719BLRO introduced in 2014. Before that, the last major GMT-Master II launch was the blue-and-black “Batman” in 2013. As a result, anticipation for a stainless steel Pepsi was enormous, and Rolex certainly delivered. At first glance, the watch looks familiar. It has the iconic red-and-blue Cerachrom bezel that made the original Pepsi GMT famous, along with the black dial, luminous hour markers, and independently adjustable local hour hand that frequent travelers rely on. The biggest visual surprise was the bracelet. Rolex paired the new Pepsi with a Jubilee bracelet, a design set not seen on a GMT-Master in regular production for decades. The five-link design gave the watch a slightly more refined personality while paying tribute to vintage GMT references from the collection’s early years. Beneath the dial, however, the changes were even more significant. The ref. 126710 introduced the caliber 3285, replacing the long-serving caliber 3186. The new movement incorporated Rolex’s Chronergy escapement, improving efficiency by roughly 15% and helping increase the power reserve from approximately 48 hours to 70 hours.
