Pre-owned Rolex Sea-Dweller ref 116600 (2014) marked the return of the iconic deep saturation diver to the Rolex catalog after its predecessor, ref. 16600, was discontinued in 2009. With its triumphant return, ref. 116600 introduced the series to the modern ceramic bezel with a complete set of minute hashes, longer-lasting Chromalight lume, and an upgraded bracelet with the Glidelock extension clasp. It was an exciting model, to say the least. However, it only remained in production for a few years before it was discontinued in 2017 to make way for the current production ref. 126600. While the Cyclops-free crystal on the 40mm model initially irked some collectors because of its resemblance to the Submariner, it is now a novelty that only adds to the discontinued Rolex 116600’s value.
