Pre-owned Rolex Submariner ref. 116618 (2008-2009) ushered the all-gold Submariner into the modern era. Replacing the ref. 16618, it became the first full yellow gold Submariner to feature Rolex’s highly durable Cerachrom ceramic bezel, bringing greater resistance to scratches and fading while giving the watch a noticeably more contemporary appearance. This generation also introduced the so-called “Super Case,” with broader lugs, more substantial crown guards, and the larger Maxi dial featuring oversized luminescent hour markers and hands for improved legibility. Despite its updated proportions, the ref. 116618 is still every bit the professional dive watch the Submariner has always been. It has the collection’s unidirectional timing bezel, highly legible dial, and 300-meter water resistance, making it as capable beneath the surface as it is impressive on land.
