Pre-owned Breitling Chronomat B01 42 ref. RB0134101B1S1 (2020) is a watch that tells an important chapter in Breitling’s history. When the Chronomat debuted in 1984, the watch industry was still deep in the Quartz Crisis, and ultra-thin battery-powered watches were dominating the market. Breitling went in the opposite direction, betting on a bold, mechanical chronograph with plenty of wrist presence. The move paid off. Inspired by a model developed with Italy’s famed Frecce Tricolori aerobatic squadron, the Chronomat helped reestablish Breitling’s identity as a maker of serious mechanical chronographs and became the brand’s flagship collection for decades. This reference is the Chronomat at its most luxurious. The 42mm case and signature rider-tab bezel are crafted from 18 karat red gold, giving the watch a rich warmth that pairs beautifully with the anthracite dial. The darker dial helps balance the precious-metal construction, creating a look that feels sporty and refined at the same time.
