Pre-owned Rolex Submariner ref 16610 (1995) is the last of the classic aluminum bezel era, just before Rolex switched to ceramic with the next generation. That’s a big part of why collectors like it. It keeps that slightly softer, more traditional look that the newer models don’t have. The Submariner itself dates back to 1953, and the formula hasn’t changed much since. Time, date, rotating bezel, and a case designed for serious water-resistant timekeeping. The 16610 sits right in that transition point. It still has the slimmer case proportions and a lighter feel overall compared to modern Subs. This example features the black dial and matching aluminum bezel insert, paired with the classic 40mm Oyster case. Inside is the caliber 3135, one of Rolex’s most proven movements. It’s simple, durable, and easy to service. It checks all the right boxes for many collectors.
